Compare two versions of a JSON row list: what was added, removed or changed, field by field.
Dataset Diff & Change Detector is a remote MCP server published at dataset-diff-detector.nerolabs.workers.dev. It has been probed 4 times since 9/13/2026. It answered in 4 of them (100.0%), a near-uninterrupted record. Median response time is 278 ms, placing it among the faster endpoints. It offers a narrow, focused set of 2 tools. On the protocol side it still runs 2025-11-25 and has not moved to the newer spec.
Can an LLM agent pick the right tool here — names, descriptions and parameter clarity are assessed.

Tools the server advertised in the latest measurement — measured, not catalog-claimed.
list_capabilitiesReturns the exact matching and comparison rules diff_rows uses, the shape and order of its output rows, and the maximum rows per call. Call this first if you are unsure how values are compared. Free, processes no data.
diff_rowsCompares two versions of the same list of JSON rows (a before and an after snapshot, such as yesterday's and today's price list, product feed or CRM export) and returns one row per difference: status added, removed or changed, the key, the old and new values, and changedFields naming exactly which fields moved. Set keyFields to the field(s) that identify a row (sku, id, email); without it rows match on full content and an edited row shows as removed plus added. Comparison is exact: "19.99" (text) and 19.99 (a number) differ, as do "Blue" and "blue " and null and a missing field; nested objects compare by value. Put always-changing fields such as timestamps in ignoreFields. The summary counts added, removed, changed and unchanged rows and warns about duplicate keys, rows missing a key, and
oldRowsarrayrequirednewRowsarrayrequiredkeyFieldsarraycompareFieldsarrayignoreFieldsarrayincludeUnchangedbooleanEach block is one measurement round. Green: working response. Amber: responded but the server was returning errors (5xx). Red: no response at all.
Each cell is one probe run. Faded cells are incomplete probes — one leg did not answer, so the era is inconclusive.
The two probe legs separately: modern server/discover and legacy initialize.
Derived by comparing consecutive probes — changes in era, protocol version, build and reachability.
