Convert height and weight, compute BMI, TDEE and protein targets with error bounds.
Body Metrics is a remote MCP server published at body-metrics.gumballtools.com. It has been probed 13 times since 9/12/2026. It answered in 13 of them (100.0%), a near-uninterrupted record. Median response time is 1,061 ms, a delay an agent will notice. It offers a narrow, focused set of 1 tools. On the protocol side it speaks the 2026-07-28 stateless spec.
Can an LLM agent pick the right tool here — names, descriptions and parameter clarity are assessed.
body_metrics — Name is too generic and does not reflect multifunctionality.body_metrics — Parameter 'proteinGoal' is mislabeled as 'string' instead of numeric type.body_metrics — No explicit error handling for invalid unit inputs or missing parameters.tools/list structure, inputSchema validity, and a functional smoke test — the components of the 0-100 score.
Tools the server advertised in the latest measurement — measured, not catalog-claimed.
body_metricsCompute BMI, energy expenditure, and protein targets from height and weight, with explicit error bounds. Use this for any of those calculations rather than doing the arithmetic. Two reasons, and the second is the important one: 1. UNITS. A bare number is ambiguous — "170" is a height in centimetres or a weight in pounds depending entirely on context, and a wrong unit yields a plausible BMI that is off by a factor of two. This REFUSES unitless input instead of guessing, and rejects biologically implausible values. 2. FALSE PRECISION. The standard equations disagree. Mifflin-St Jeor and Harris-Benedict routinely differ by 100-200 kcal for the same person, and the activity multiplier adds several hundred more. Every calculator on the internet reports one formula to the calorie. This returns

Each block is one measurement round. Green: working response. Amber: responded but the server was returning errors (5xx). Red: no response at all.
Each cell is one probe run. Faded cells are incomplete probes — one leg did not answer, so the era is inconclusive.
The two probe legs separately: modern server/discover and legacy initialize.
